Lama Abdeldayem Joins VertiCairo as Research Assistant
Lama Abdeldayem is a Research Assistant at VertiCairo, where she plays a key role in maintaining the systems and researching innovative sustainable methods, including aquaponics. She joined the team in 2024, driven by her passion for sustainability and a desire to contribute to VertiCairo’s cutting-edge work in vertical farming and water-efficient solutions.

Lama graduated from the American University in Cairo (AUC) in February 2024 with a bachelor’s degree in Biology, specializing in Molecular and Cell Biology, along with minors in Chemistry and Behavioral Neuroscience. Her academic journey was shaped by a strong commitment to addressing the climate crisis and water scarcity, with her thesis focusing on the identification of methane-oxidizing bacteria in Ras Sudr.

Prior to joining VertiCairo, Lama completed an internship as a Research Assistant trainee at the Centre of Applied Research on Environment and Sustainability (CARES), where she further developed her interest in environmental research. At VertiCairo, she is eager to expand her expertise in sustainable practices and contribute to the company’s mission of pioneering eco-friendly farming solutions.
